On February 10th, 2023, British ultra cyclist Nicholas Bourne will attempt to break Mark Beaumont's world record of 41 days, 10 hours and 22 minutes for the fastest human powered journey from Cairo to Cape Town. This journey of over 10,375 km will take him through landscapes at the leading edge of global climate change, many of which are teetering on the brink of ecosystem collapse. Ark2030’s Race to Net Zero is building networks of individuals, communities and businesses that are committed to reversing the impact humans have had on the natural environment over the past 200 years.
Ark2030's mission is to reverse the climate crisis
This is being achieved through the restoration of the 500m Hectares of Global Ecosystems destroyed since the beginning of the industrial revolution. By investing in organisations that have the knowledge and experience to reverse climate change and the collapse of ecosystems Ark2030 has developed the roadmap to a sustainable future.
Every Programme around the world is designed with multi stakeholder collaboration to ensure that the interests of nature, bio diversity, communities and the Sustainable Development Goals are considered for each ecosystem that we are seeking to protect, restore and regenerate.
We are all involved in the 'Race To Net Zero'.
Creating resilient communities in the era of climate change
As part of Ark2030's Global Village program the Safari Simbaz are building a 100% sustainable, zero carbon residential centre in Mweiga Kenya created by a global community of cyclists to inspire, educate and create economic opportunity through the power of bicycles.
Please join us and help solve society's greatest challenge and secure a habitable home for future generations.
In order to keep his footprint to an absolute minimum Nick is riding solo and self supported with the aim of completing the 10,375 km from Cairo to Cape Town in under 30 days.
Nick represented Great Britain at the 400 meter hurdles as a teenager and went on to set the world record for Running from Cape Town to Cairo in 1998, a record that still stands to this day. On returning to the UK he spent 5 years working in M&A, prior to founding Earth Sports. In 2015 he set the fastest time, as part of an international team, for cycling from Cairo to Cape Town in a time of 37 days 10 hours.
Nick is a father to Alfie & Beau aged 13 &12, he believes that uniting global communities to tackle climate change and biodiversity collapse is key to preserving planet Earth for future generations.
Send us a message, and we will get back to you.
